Purpose:
DeSales High School has two academic organizations in place to recognize and honor our outstanding students. Sophomore, junior, and senior students are invited to join the National Honor Society and Beta Club in the fall semester. They are selected based on their character, leadership both inside and outside of our school community, service to others, and their commendable scholastic performance.

Eligibility:
National Honor Society members must:

Achieve
and maintain a 3.3 minimum cumulative GPA;

Score in
the 60th percentile or above on the PLAN, PSAT,
or ACT
-
Exhibit
outstanding leadership, character, and service; and
-
Complete
an application essay and obtain two teacher
recommendations.
Beta Club members must:
-
Achieve
and maintain a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA;
-
Score in
the 60th percentile or above on the PLAN, PSAT,
or ACT
-
Promote
good character, exhibit leadership skills, and exhibit
service involvement; and
-
Complete
an application essay and obtain two teacher
recommendations.
Events:
Both organizations work together to better the lives of others in both the school and outside community. There are several projects that we participate in that enable us to lead by serving others.
• DeSales Peer Tutoring Program
• Mentoring program through the St. Nicholas Academy after school care program
• Dare to Care food drive
• Christmas Angel Tree adoptions
