The shadow day at DeSales High School is an important tool for students to use when selecting a high school.
The shadow day allows 7th and 8th grade students to "shadow" a freshman or sophomore through an entire school day. The shadower experiences a typical school day at DeSales by actively participating in all the classes and activities of his shadowee. A folder, pen, and paper are given to the shadow to assure they have material for the day. Lunch is provided free of charge.
Students who shadow are asked to dress in the appropriate DeSales dress code.
A parent phone call any time prior to the day of shadowing is needed in order for all the necessary arrangements to be made here at DeSales. In order not to interfere with his own academic work, DeSales prefers that the shadow choose a day that his school is not in session.
