2010 Hall of Honors Awards Dinner
After five years of sharing the limelight with the Benefit
Feast gala, the Hall of Honors Awards Dinner is
reclaiming its own special night on the DeSales High School
calendar. This year's celebration will take place on
Tuesday, August 17, 2010.
In addition to bestowing DeSales' highest honor to three
outstanding members of the DeSales community, the Hall of
Honors Awards Dinner will include three new awards: the
Outstanding Service Award, recognizing an individual's
special dedication to DeSales over the past year; the
President's Award, recognizing an exemplary faculty or
staff member at DeSales; and the Young Alumnus Award,
recognizing a graduate within the past 10 years who has
brought distinction on himself and DeSales.

Fillies Club Clothing Sale
The annual Used-Clothing Sale run by the DeSales Fillies Club will
take place on Saturday, August 7, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm in front of
school. Help support DeSales by participating as a donor (and
receive a percentage of the sale, if preferred) or by purchasing items
at the sale.

Items acceptable for the clothing sale are boy's and men's sport

Meet some of the moms from "The Fillies Club" at the sale, or you can
attend their first meeting on Tuesday, August 24, at 7 pm in the
cafeteria. Moms, past moms, future moms, grandmothers, aunts are all

Annual Yard Sale
The annual cross country yard sale will be on Saturday, August 14,
8:00 am - 1:00 pm. Space will be available to rent for $30, and
renters will retain any of their own sales. The cross country
team will set up a booth for selling snacks and sodas.

Colts in All "A" Baseball Final
Colts will play in the All "A" state baseball final Wednesday evening
following the conclusion of the Lex. Christ. vs. Whitefield match-up.
DeSales' suspended game on Sunday has been conceded by Russellville,
who trailed the Colts 8-3 in the 4th inning. State Final gametime
estimated to be 7:00 PM in Lexington. Good luck Colts!!

DeSales Summer Basketball Camp
For grades 4th - 9th grade. The purpose of the camp is to teach the “Fundamentals of
Basketball”,
including offensive and defensive tactics, ball-handling, shooting
and
self-discipline on and off the court. Camp dates are June 7th - 11th, 2010.

Pro Camp Coming to DeSales
For the 2nd summer in a row, DeSales High School is hosting a Kohl’s
Professional Kicking Camp. The camp is scheduled for Sunday, July 11.
Kohl's goal is to help every motivated athlete attain their maximum level of
performance in kicking, punting, and snapping by teaching correct techniques and

Comedy Night Fundraiser
The football program is hosting a Comedy Night in the DeSales Coach Room
Café on Saturday, March 27. Three local comedians from the Comedy Caravan
will be performing. Doors open at 7:30 pm, and the entertainment will
start at 9:00pm. Tickets are $20 per person.
Proceeds will go towards the $16,000 needed to pay off the new football
uniforms. We are getting close to that mark and this evening will be a big help.
Make checks out to DeSales HS or pay with cash. Send money into the athletic
office or give to a football coach. Once money is received, we will hand back
your admission tickets via your son or by mail.
‘State Gridiron Bowl’ shirts will be for sale at a discounted price of $5 each.
Refreshments will also be available for purchase. Please make plans for a
FUN-FILLED evening! Go Colts!! 2009 CLASS 2A STATE RUNNER-UPS!!!

2010 CSAA Baseball Coaches Convention - Sunday, April 25th

Who’s invited: CSAA coaches and parents
The 2010 CSAA Coaches Convention is a chance for your coaches to get to know
members of coaching staffs in the area. Featured programs will be DeSales,
Trinity, St. Xavier, Holy Cross and Bethlehem. Each coach will discuss a
particular topic in his area of expertise. This a great way for your coaching
staff to prepare for the upcoming season and prepare your players for the high
school they attend.

DeSales Basketball versus Trinity on Friday, February 19 (JV
4:30, FR 6:00, Varsity 7:30). This is the final home

Finish Runner-Up in State Tournament
The Shelby Valley Wildcats beat DeSales 46-37 in a
January 31 championship game of the All “A” Classic at
McBrayer Arena on the campus of EKU. The Colts were led
by Nick Roush with 10 points and Derek Thornberry with 8.
DeSales was playing in its first-ever All "A" State
Tournament.

DeSales East-West All-Stars
Congratulations to DeSales seniors Dominique Boyd and Ryan
Johnson, who are among the 75 players statewide chosen to
participate in the "Best of the Bluegrass" East-West All-Star
Football Game on June 18 at Western Kentucky University.

DeSales Wrestlers Advance to State Competition
DeSales sophomore wrestler Trevor Ford was named
Region 3 Most Valuable Wrestler after pinning three opponents
in a total of 79 seconds on his way to the heavyweight title
Saturday at DeSales in the Regional Tournament. Ford
capped his performance by pinning Holy Cross' Jeremy Glass in
40 seconds. His other pins came at 0:16 and 0:23.
Congratulations to Trevor and to junior Zach Goldsmith, who
placed fourth. Both advance to the state tournament this
week at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, KY.

DeSales/Holy Cross Game Shirts
The Campus Store will be selling special orange camouflage
T-shirts for the DeSales vs. Holy Cross basketball game, which
is Sunday, 2/7 at Bellarmine. The T-shirts should be in
the Campus Store Thursday afternoon and will sell for $15.00.
The store will also be open Friday morning 7:30 to 11:30 am
and again Friday night during the home basketball games from
4:30 to 9:00 pm.

Holy Cross Game Time Change - Conflict with Super Bowl
Sunday
In order to avoid a conflict with the Super Bowl, the annual
DeSales/Holy Cross rivalry game on February 7th has been moved
up from 7:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The JV game will be at 2:00 pm.
The game will be played at Bellarmine University.
• Trinity Game Rescheduled - Snow Make-Up Game
The January 8th game versus Trinity that was postponed due to
snow has now been rescheduled for Friday, February 19. The
game will tip-off at 7:30 pm at DeSales. Freshman play at 4:30
pm and the JV at 6:00 pm.
