Senior to Receive Special Award

Congratulations to Senior Jeremiah Blake, who was selected to receive an “Unsung Hero Award” from the Rotary Club of Louisville. Jeremiah is one of our many outstanding young men in the building who quietly lead by positive Christian example.

Last summer, Jeremiah volunteered over 150 hours as a camp counselor for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. MDA sponsors a week-long overnight, residential camp for young people afflicted with muscular dystrophy. Jeremiah had a particular interest in working the MDA camp because he has an uncle who has muscular dystrophy, and having witnessed the daily struggles of a person living with the neuromuscular disease, Jeremiah was inspired to help others with muscular dystrophy. Jeremiah said it was one of the most rewarding experiences he has ever had in his life and strongly encourages others to participate.
