Retreat Program

Freshman Day of Renewal
All freshmen are required to attend their freshman day of renewal. The focus of the day is community. The freshmen are divided into 3 groups are assigned a day at the Flaget Center. There is an emphasis on faith development, brotherhood, and the traditions of Saint Francis DeSales High School.

Sophomore Day of Renewal
All sophomores are required to attend the sophomore retreat. The focus of the sophomore day of renewal is trust. The sophomores are divided into 3 groups and are assigned a day of team-building at Jefferson Memorial Forest, participating in the 52 foot tall, Alpine Tower. Students are assigned partners and must belay each other, while encouraging all of their classmates that are climbing the tower.

Junior Retreat
All juniors have the option of attending this overnight retreat experience at the Flaget Center. The theme of the junior retreat is ‘No Greater Love’. The goals of the retreat are to recognize the love of God through the sacrifice of Jesus’ death and Resurrection as well as to accept the challenge to share the love of God in their personal relationships and with the larger community.

Senior Retreat
All seniors have the option of making their ‘Christian Awakening’ senior retreat. The ‘Christian Awakening’ senior retreat is a four day experience that is held at Mount Saint Francis Retreat Center in Indiana. The retreat provides time for personal reflection and group sharing focusing on the students’ relationship with self, family/friends, and Jesus Christ. Students hear a series of talks and participate in activities related to these various relationships.
