Federspiel Named to KY Athletic Hall of Fame

It was announced this week that DeSales High School alumnus Joe Federspiel ’68 has been named to the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2008. He will be enshrined into the Hall at an induction dinner at the Galt House on April 30.

Joe was an All-City and All-State football player as a senior at DeSales before having a standout career at UK, where his jersey is retired. He later became the first DeSales Colt to play in the NFL, where he enjoyed a 10-year career with the New Orleans Saints.

Joe was inducted into the DeSales High School Hall of Honors in 1993. He was named to the DeSales 50-Year Football First Team as a Linebacker in 2007.
