Eligibility for Extracurricular Activities/Athletics

The major task of a student at DeSales is academic growth. Participation in clubs, sports and extracurricular activities is encouraged as a way to enrich a young man's high school experience. DeSales' standard for extracurriculars/athletics is stricter than that of the KHSAA.

A student must have a minimum grade of C in at least 7 courses in order to compete in a scheduled KHSAA game or participate in a club/organization major event(s).

Grades are checked on a weekly basis on Mondays. Any student not eligible on Monday cannot become eligible until grades are checked the following Monday. To be eligible for participation in any extracurricular activity/athletic event on any given day, a student must be in school before the start of second block and remain in school for the rest of the day. Exceptions to this require the permission of the principal.
