DeSales High School is proud to announce the names of the Class of 2018 St. Elias Scholars.
These talented freshmen were among the highest-achieving eighth graders on the Placement Exam last December, scoring a 90 or above composite on the test. Along with the designation of St. Elias Scholar, each student earned a $1,000 academic scholarship to DeSales.
The group of eight represents the largest number of St. Elias Scholars at DeSales in four years. The students hail from seven different parochial schools around Louisville and comprise nearly 10% of the freshman class.
Congratulations to the following students (pictured left to right): Jordan Powell (St. Nicholas), R. Brady McCauley (St. Gabriel), Trey Hoback (St. Rita/TJMS), Nicholas Heil (Holy Spirit), Jacob Averill (St. Athanasius), Peyton Powell (St. Nicholas), Phillip Thornberry (Holy Family), J. Kenneth Triplett (St. James).
