Healthy at School - 2020 Reopening Plan
DeSales High School is committed to providing a safe learning environment. Over several months, the leadership team at DeSales High School has met with area health providers to craft a plan that will maximize student, employee, and visitor safety to exceed Kentucky Healthy at School and Archdioceses of Louisville recommendations.
In an effort to provide a safe environment, visitors should wear a mask at all times while on campus. Additionally, visitors must not exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, have a fever of 100.4 or higher, or have an active diagnosis of COVID-19. It is recommended that visitors observe the 6' distance rule while on campus. Thank you for helping us to keep our students healthy.
DeSales Reopening Plan
As a community, we are focused on the safety and continued growth of all of our students. Based on the most recent state and federal guidelines, we expect students to be able to return to some form of in-person instruction this fall. Based on the guidelines we’ve been given and what is best for our students, we will begin with a hybrid schedule such that students alternate days in the building. We have developed a system that will allow us to pivot seamlessly from in-person to online to a hybrid as needed during the year. The safest way for students to return is through the constant use of masks, social distancing, good hygiene, and health monitoring.
- Masks will be required in the building at all times unless eating lunch.
- Distance will be maintained in the hallways and classrooms while access to public spaces will be limited.
- Temperatures will be checked and recorded every morning for any student and faculty who enter the building.
- A schedule has been built to accommodate the academic, social, and health and safety needs of the students. It will allow for half of the students to be in the building at a time while the other half are participating virtually through advanced technology and inclusive instructional models.
