The Matthew Boyd ‘13 Memorial Scholarship was started by family and friends of Matthew Boyd, Class of 2013, to honor his legacy and give back to the DeSales community that provided so much for him and us. Matthew loved DeSales, the experiences he gained, the people he met, and the friendships that will last forever. He always wanted to make sure others received that same opportunity.
What Matthew loved most about DeSales was the family atmosphere, from the students across all classes to the teachers and administrators. He had a close-knit support system that outlasted his time in high school. He loved visiting and reconnecting with his teachers, keeping up on what was happening, and taking pride in the evolution of the school. The support from his teachers and friends is what motivated and pushed him through college and into pharmacy school, and he was always grateful for those roots.
This scholarship has been created to continue Matt’s personal mission: to provide for as many students as possible the opportunity to share in the DeSales community the way he was able to. Matthew was the recipient of a scholarship during his time at DeSales, and it was his goal to pay that forward. We are confident that this scholarship will carry on his legacy.
