When Glenn Metten ’69 decided to start a scholarship it was the intent to honor both the Metten and Tewell families. “A Catholic education has always been a priority and focus for our families,” said Glenn as he reflected on the importance of faith, family, and a quality disciplined education offered at DeSales. “A successful high school experience should be rewarded,” continued Glenn. The Metten-Tewell Family Scholarship will be available beginning in the 2021-2022 school year to assist students through tuition assistance so other future Colts can have the same experience as the many Colts who have graduated over the last 65 years.
The opportunity to give back to DeSales students is one of joy for Glenn who looks back upon his time as a DeSales student as one that was key, and a blessing, to his future.
Over time, Glenn hopes the scholarship grows to allow additional tuition assistance to be awarded to more students.
