Justin Ogle '21 Awarded Joyful and Courageous Witness Award

On November 5, 2021, the Office of Youth and Young Adults of Louisville gave out several awards to adults and young adults who have done outstanding work in their parish. Justin Ogle, '21, received the Joyful and Courageous Witness Award. It is a one-time award that seeks to honor a high school senior or recent high school graduate who has been an outstanding peer mentor in youth ministry. Qualifications include being a positive role model, encouraging and modeling participation in Mass and the sacraments, pursuing a deepening relationship with Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith and assisting in mentoring to their peers in their parish and/or school.

Justin was nominated by his parish, St Martha Catholic Church, for his years in lectoring and serving at Mass, being a peer mentor to grade school children, helping lead retreats and being a dedicated youth ministry participant. St Martha parish had this to say, "Justin Ogle is always ready to serve. He greets people with a smile and a great sense of humor. He exhibits maturity beyond his years and an uncanny intuitiveness for the needs of the marginalized. Justin Ogle is a gift to his parish and a joy to be around.
