High School Graduation Year

2020

What did you do right after graduation? College/career/travel/military?

After graduating DeSales High School, I chose to pursue higher education and enrolled at Western Kentucky University.

Describe DeSales in three words.

Brotherhood – Structured – Inviting

Where are you and what are you doing now?

I am currently living and training out of Bowling Green, Kentucky. I box full time and am representing USABOXING.

What do you like most about what you are doing?

Traveling has always been a passion of mine, and I thoroughly enjoy visiting new places and experiencing new cultures.

What is your favorite memory about DeSales?

My favorite memory at DeSales is when the student section stormed the field after we defeated St. Xavier in football. Seeing everyone so happy together made a lasting impression.

Who influenced you most during your time at DeSales?

Mr. Moore has been one of the most influential mentors I have had. His strict teaching style and comical personality always made me look forward to Engineering and Design. He has helped me tremendously in becoming the man I am today.

What classes and learning experiences did you have at DeSales that are beneficial to the work you do?

Learning to speak Spanish with Ms. Trigg has helped me exponentially. As a boxer, being able to communicate with my Latino supporters has helped me to reach a whole new fan base. Ms. Trigg’s Spanish classes have also helped me in interviews with Latino media as well.

What is the most important thing you learned while you were at DeSales?

Embracing who you are and being that well is the single most important thing I learned during my time at DeSales. I learned that who I am as a person is sufficient and that a good attitude can take you far.

What advice do you have for current (or potential) students at DeSales?

To whom this may concern: it is okay to be different, it is okay to not be like everyone else. There is something special inside you, something that only you have to offer to the world. Embrace who you are and go be amazing!

What do you like to do in your free time?

God blessed my fingers a long time before he blessed my hands, so in my free time I love to play the piano and guitar.

What is something people may not know about you?

Something people may not know about me is that I have 10 siblings. (I am the second youngest.)

Do you still stay in touch with any of your DeSales friends?

Absolutely! I hang out with and talk to my friends from DeSales on a weekly basis.

What’s next for you/where do you see yourself in five years?

What’s next for me is to turn professional as a boxer. I am currently ranked #4 in the nation and plan to turn pro in 2022. In five years, I see myself fighting for a world title in my hometown of Louisville and will sell out the KFC Yum Center!
