High School Graduation Year

2010

What did you do right after graduation? College/career/travel/military?

After graduation, I attended Franklin College in Indiana. I played football all four years. I was a 3-year starter, 2-time first-team all-conference, and a team captain.

Please describe DeSales in three words.

Lifelong Family and Community

Where are you and what are you doing now?

I live in Indianapolis, IN with my wife, Alicia and our dog, Bella. I’m a construction manager with Lennar Homes. This fall I will be giving back to the community and coaching football at the local middle school in my spare time.

What do you like most about what you are doing?

I love working with and communicating with a wide variety of people and ethnicities. There are a lot of moving parts that make these homes so unique for families that go unnoticed. I love managing and being on the other side of making it happen.

What is your favorite memory about DeSales?

Nazareth Farm trip ‘09. That trip was challenging, enlightening, and eye-opening. I made lifelong memories with my brothers and the staff that joined. I hope this trip (or similar trips like it) is still offered for current students.

Who influenced you most during your time at DeSales?

It’s hard to single out one person as there were many staff and faculty that influenced me. Senorita. Trigg managed to challenge me to my full potential while treating me as if I was her own. Her support for her students is second to none. Coach Sander and his staff also played a major role in turning us boys into men.

What classes and learning experiences did you have at DeSales that are beneficial to the work you do?

The college prep courses at DeSales help give me the tools to be successful in every career I’ve had since graduating college. It also gave me a leg up in college as I already had college credits going into my freshman year.

What is the most important thing you learned while you were at DeSales?

Be a man of integrity. Be a man of God. Don’t ever lose to CAL or Holy Cross.

What advice do you have for current (or potential) students at DeSales?

Work hard in everything you do. But have fun. Enjoy learning new things. Enjoy challenges. Enjoy those four years with your brothers and be the best Colt you can be.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Watching my Cards disappoint me, cook new recipes, golf, and travel with my wife. We started a tradition of going to an away Indianapolis Colts game once a year. Last season's game we attended was in Arizona on Christmas Day.

What is something people may not know about you?

Baseball was my first sport and longest played sport until I got to DeSales.

Do you still stay in touch with any of your DeSales friends?

Absolutely. I stay in touch with some daily. Some [DeSales friends] were in my wedding. I have love for all the same.

What’s next for you/where do you see yourself in five years?

Five years from now, I see myself being a better husband and a badass father. I see myself moving up with Lennar, hopefully still in Indianapolis - or even being an independent General Contractor. I want to be a role model to the kids I coach so they can experience the positives of life and help them like it helped me.
