DeSales Welcomes Interim Athletic Director Mark Evans
DeSales High School is proud to announce the appointment of Mark Evans as our Interim Athletic Director for the remainder of the school year.
A member of the KHSAA Hall of Fame, Evans brings decades of experience and proven leadership to the Colts. He served as Athletic Director at Mercy Academy for 27 years, guiding generations of student-athletes and strengthening athletic programs at every level.
As a coach, Mark's impact is equally impressive. He led Mercy Academy to state championships in basketball (2010) and slow-pitch softball (1987, 1989). Before his 16-year run as Mercy’s head basketball coach, Evans compiled a remarkable 113-47 record (.706) during five seasons leading Oldham County’s girls basketball program. Mark has also served as a two-term member of the KHSAA board of control and is a member of the Louisville Catholic Sports Hall of Fame.
With the Athletic Director position at DeSales drawing tremendous interest, the school is committed to ensuring the right long-term fit for this pivotal role. In the meantime, we are thrilled and grateful that Mark Evans is stepping in to provide his wisdom, stability, and championship-level experience to guide our athletics program.
Welcome to DeSales, Mr. Evans!
