Cliff Speedy is a Louisville native who graduated from DeSales High School in1988, where he was valedictorian and deeply involved in school life. He was a four-year letterman in football, earning multiple all-district and all-region honors, and a three-year letterman in basketball, receiving additional athletic recognition. Among his many DeSales honors, Cliff received the Colt Award, Faculty Award, and the U.S. Army’s National Scholar-Athlete Award. He was also active in the National Honor Society, Science and Astronomy Clubs, Senior Service Program, Academic Team, Chess Team, Yearbook, Peer Leadership, Honor Corps, and Math Team.
Cliff earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science, with a specialty in Electrical Engineering, from the University of Louisville in 1992. He has spent his entire 35-year professional career with C&I Engineering, where he currently serves as Executive Director of Projects. A licensed Professional Engineer and Project Management Professional, he was elected to C&I’s Board of Directors in 2011 and has served as Vice Chair since 2017. His professional accomplishments include published articles, conference presentations, and winning the State of Kentucky Reverse Pitch Contest for Stillage Handling in 2022.
Cliff and his wife, Carrie, have three daughters, Amber, Alexis, and Audrey. Among his favorite DeSales memories is meeting Carrie in the DeSales gym on January 3, 1988. He credits Don Hettich and Mike Campbell with teaching him valuable lessons about life that have stayed with him long after graduation.
